And just for fun...here is a photo of Dorie chowing down on our "One Year Dorie and Mommy" cake the other day. Um, found out a little too late that the gel "frosting" I used to write the words was actually gel food coloring. Straight from the tube. Oh, yeah. Dorie's mouth was blue for quite some time. At least we got a good giggle out of it!

One Year Ago Today...

I held my Sweet Baby Girl in my arms for the first time... February 17, 2010

Today I told her that I can't really remember my life without her. I am so thankful that the Lord has entrusted me with this most amazing gift. I love you, Sweet Baby Girl!

Birthday Girl!!!

Dorie's 6th birthday was her really her first....she had never had anyone even acknowledge her birthday before, let alone give her a party with cake, games, and gifts! So, oh my, how we celebrated! This little girl knew exactly what she wanted for her big day! We had her party a few days before her actual birthday. Gotta love weeklong celebrations!
She designed her own cake...just for herself! Everyone else got cupcakes. :)

Of course it had to be a Dora party for my Dorie! All the kids made backpacks...

...and jumped on the trampoline...

...hit the pinata...

...opened presents...how exciting...!!!

I loved that Dorie invited her younger cousins to help her open her gifts!

The first time this little girl had anyone sing "Happy birthday, dear DORIE!" She was so excited, she sang right along.
